All imagined higher races are only higher conditions of the same race. Our power to imagine ends in this. The same of mathematical truths, of moral laws, of reverence and love, of memory and hope, of believing and knowing. Despise not, therefore, our very little earth, it is manifold; and the secrets of the universe are deposited in it. It is the small key that unlocks the big chest, and the door of the vast mansion.174
